Jazz Man - Justin Wheelahan at his vintage Hammond "A" Model
At nearly 80 years old, this fabulous historic Hammond organ receives a "state of the art" update at Metropolitan Organ Service.
From the nameplate and serial number, the date of manufacture is 1936 !
Over some 10 years, Justin's Hammond began its new life with a replacement Run Motor.
He then added
a Trek II Solid State Pre-amplifier and a 3 spring Reverberation Unit. Amplification was via a 1/4" phono plug.
- a Trek II - 3 harmonic percussion unit, a Trek II note replacement unit,
- Output sockets for a 9 pin Leslie and a 122 Leslie with an
added foot switch speed control for the 122.
- The final (?) addition was a "grunge" unit - to introduce varying degrees of overdrive
to the final sound.
