Metropolitan Organ Service

Owner and Manager;    Barry Wilkinson. DTT

Office manager;           Bill Stone.

As early as 1959, Barry was working on electronic organs, as a junior technician with Allan's Music.  Since then, his love of electronics and music eventually led him to open Metropolitan Organ Service in 1974. This company grew to be the largest such service organisation in Australia, once employing as many as 7 technicians.

Realising that computer technology would soon revolutionise the music industry, Barry went back to night school and achieved Certificates in Microcomputer, Microcontroller and Industrial Electronics.

As the reliability of equipment improved, less work was required.  This led to Barry diversifying into the area of Technical Teaching, whilst still managing MOS.  He achieved his Diploma of Technical Teaching in 1989 and taught electronics at RMIT, then HMAS Cerberus and Chisholm Institute.  Since then, he now devotes his time fully to the management and operation of Metropolitan Organ Service.

MOS opened for business firstly in Malvern, then purchased its own property in Glenhuntly.  In 2006, we moved to our present location, in a modern Business Estate in Keysborough.
